Digital photographs and scanned images of items in the Eton Collections can be obtained from the Collections Administrator, who also administers permissions to use these images (and, for those writings in which Eton holds the copyright, text), in electronic and non-electronic forms.
How to order
Please contact the Collections Administrator by email or by telephone (01753 370590) to submit an enquiry.
You will be sent the relevant permission forms, and information on any costs associated with supplying the image and reproduction fees will be outlined. Once permission forms are received and payment completed, the image(s) will be supplied to you electronically.
Permission to reproduce
Customers may not reproduce any material supplied (including for academic or private use, whether for profit or not) without permission from Eton College.
Eton College owns and retains the copyright in all reproductions produced at all times. The following acknowledgement should be used: “Reproduced by permission of the Provost and Fellows of Eton College”.
This is separate from the original copyright of the material. In most cases, Eton College does not own the copyright in writings or artworks themselves. Under UK copyright law, material published after c.1874 or material that is unpublished may be subject to intellectual property rights. Eton College does not warrant that the use of material supplied by it will not infringe upon the rights of third parties. It is your responsibility to determine and satisfy copyright and other use conditions before requesting reproductions of material from Eton College.
