Eton offers an annual scholarship made possible by the generosity of a benefactor who is funding a Sixth Form Scholarship which is designated to benefit a boy coming from the Middle East, preferably the Palestinian Territories, Lebanon, Jordan or Syria. Candidates are required to meet Eton's admission criteria (including fluency/near fluency in English) and the intellectual standard expected will be very high. The scholarship is tenable for two years, during which time the holder studies three or more subjects to A-level (or the equivalent). It is aimed in particular at boys who would not be able to attend Eton without very substantial financial assistance (in some cases full assistance may be given), who are potential academic high-flyers with talents in sport or the arts and who have the personality to adapt successfully to the life of a boarding community.
Eligibility: applicants will normally be aged 16. A boy who will be 17 before September 1st is too old to enter.
