As part of a programme of initiatives encouraging reflection on conflict during this Great War centenary year, Eton's Verey Gallery is currently hosting an exhibition of photographs taken by Rankin of injured servicemen and women. At the opening event, boys from Eton College were joined by students from other local schools to hear injured veteran Derek Derenalagi talk about his experiences of injury and rehabilitation and of sitting for his portrait.

Students described Derek’s talk and the exhibition as ‘truly motivational’ and ‘moving and inspirational’. The exhibition also offers the opportunity to reflect on photographic portraiture by one of the most significant and interesting artists working today.
